Don’t call yourself a Web Dev yet.

When you started out with WordPress, it’s good to have the habit of being cool and easy going.

Just because you make a new WordPress installation on the server and install a theme you purchase from themeforest makes you a web dev. You’re not.

What makes you a web developer is when you understand the language WordPress is written on PHP. Have a good understanding of the programming language and able to use WordPress hooks, classes and methods in any given logic and usecases.

I promise you, when u spent more time learning about WordPress and PHP you will realised that those titles or labels are less significant.

The learning process in programming never ends. New tools are coming out every week. Programming languages are re-written every now and then for efficiency moving from one build to another. These are things you’d be focusing on, I mean the real stuff.

So how do you go about labelling yourself when you have the hands-on and experience?

Well, it is up to you entirely.

This is because, when you reach that stage, you know your strengths and limits. You know the level of confidence in you to conquer problems and if beyond, you also aware of your limits.

I like it when someone ask Johnny, are you a Web developer?

He replied, I built websites for clients – I do it with fun and passion.
